This distant cousin of our carnations is native to the green valleys of the rivers of the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.
It is a small floriferous perennial with cut-out white flowers giving off a pleasant fragrance (subtle mixture of carnation, jasmine and banana!!!). The flowers open in the evening to release their fragrance.
