Alchemilla mollis, is a plant forming a vigorous tuft of short stems: an almost perfect ball of leaves. The plant, under the right conditions, can form a 60 cm wide dome. Its large and beautiful leaves with long petiole, bluish green, are webbed and very slightly lobed, with a serrated edge. Young, it unfolds in the form of a fan. Relatively glabrous on their surface, they are hydrophobic and instead of getting wet, the surface of the leaves holds dew or rain droplets in the form of round balls. In the same way, the evapotranspiration of the plant produces, in the morning, tiny pearls of water hanging on the edge of the leaf. It then offers a fascinating spectacle.
