It is a widely cultivated species for having great ornamental and livestock value, having been introduced in areas such as Hawaii.
It is recommended before sowing to sand the seeds a little and leave them to soak for 24 hours, then sow them in a warm-luminous-sheltered place in a universal or sowing substrate, it does not usually give germination problems. When the plants have several pairs of leaves, they should be transplanted to their final place in full sun or partial shade. It is a long-lived tree that is easily centennial with strong and fairly superficial roots.
