It reproduces by seeds, requires fertile, fresh and deep soils, it is a fairly long-lived species that, if cut, regrows vigorously, its leaves, given their similarity, can occasionally be confused with those of the banana tree, hence its name. To germinate them, they need to be stratified for 2 months, then soaked for a day to later put them in a seedbed with a sandy substrate in a sheltered place.
