Its flavor is exquisite, like sugar water, very fine and delicate. The pitahaya is almost a deliciously sweetened serving of water. They are fruits of very low caloric value, since they barely contain carbohydrates. The vitamin C content in the red variety stands out, but not in the yellow one. The edible portion represents 55% of the total weight. Vitamin C is involved in the formation of collagen, bones and teeth, red blood cells and favors the absorption of iron from food, resistance to infections and has antioxidant action. Sow in a sheltered-warm-light spot in a well-draining mix such as universal soil with perlite. It is recommended to bury the seeds minimally (less than half a cm deep) or not to bury them at all. Water by immersing the pot-seedbed in a plate with water until the water reaches the surface of the seedbed by absorbing it by capillarity from the substrate.
