It is a very pretty North American carnivorous plant that is able to withstand cold winters, it requires a lot of moisture.
It does well with a few hours of direct sun a day, if it is not very strong, the ideal substrate to grow it is esfango or acid peat that can be mixed at a rate of 2 parts of this with one part of perlite or river sand.
It can also be used by mixing sphango-acid peat with orchid soil made from tree bark, although the ideal is to purchase a special preparation for carnivores, normal peat burns the roots. Sow the seeds cold-stratified for 2 months in a warm-sheltered-luminous place without burying the seeds.
In their curious jars they trap all kinds of insects that when they fall into the liquid inside are unable to escape, then the plant dissolves the insect with acids that it secretes by pouring it into the jar and gets the extra nutrients that the trapped insect provides.
